Position Overview: The Sober Living House Manager is a live-in position responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the sober living facility, ensuring a safe, supportive, and structured environment that promotes residents' recovery and personal growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of addiction recovery, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to fostering a community of accountability and support. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Resident Support and Supervision: 

  • Engage residents in conversations and activities that are edifying and stimulating. 

  • Assign household chores and monitor the cleanliness of residents' rooms and common areas. 

  • Ensure residents adhere to house rules, including curfews and participation in recovery-related activities. 

  • Provide emotional support and guidance, assisting residents in their transition to sober living. 

  • Conflict Resolution: 

  • Monitor for any unusual behaviors or potential conflicts between residents. 

  • Address disputes promptly using conflict resolution skills to maintain a harmonious living environment. 

  • Facility Management: 

  • Oversee the proper use and functioning of household appliances and equipment. 

  • Maintain inventory of household supplies and ensure residents have necessary items such as linens and hygiene products. 

  • Coordinate routine maintenance and ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of the facility. 

  • Administrative Duties: 

  • Collect rent and manage the finances of the sober living facility, including paying bills. 

  • Assist residents in finding employment or educational opportunities. 

  • Facilitate house meetings, community meetings, and life skills groups. 

Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or GED. 

  • Minimum of 18 months of continuous sobriety. 

  • Experience with sober living housing programs and a working knowledge of addiction, mental illness, and homelessness. 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Ability to manage finances and coordinate with external service providers. 

  • Demonstrated leadership and conflict resolution skills. 

  • Culturally sensitive with the ability to work with a diverse resident population. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience in a similar role within a sober living or recovery environment. 

  • Certification or training in addiction counseling or related fields. 

Compensation: Compensation includes free room and board within the facility, along with a competitive salary commensurate with experience.
