Position Summary:
Samba Recovery at Savannah is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join our outpatient treatment team. The Nurse Practitioner will provide high-quality care to adult individuals in our Outpatient Detox (OP DTX), Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Treatment (PHP) programs. This position will involve administrating assessments, and delivering essential medical support while monitoring patient health. The Nurse Practitioner will also assist with the overall recovery process for clients with substance use disorders in an outpatient setting.
Nurse Practitioner Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Provide direct nursing care to patients in OP DTX, IOP and PHP programs, including monitoring vital signs, managing withdrawal symptoms, and ensuring medical needs are met.
- Medication Management: Administer prescribed medications, including controlled substances, in accordance with facility protocols. Document medication administration and any adverse reactions.
- Admission Assessments: Conduct comprehensive assessments to monitor patient progress, physical health status, and response to treatment. Report any significant medical concerns to the medical team.
- Collaboration: Work closely with therapists, counselors, and the medical team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for each patient.
- Patient Education: Educate patients on health risks, substance use recovery, medication adherence, and wellness practices to support their overall recovery journey.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely medical records, ensuring compliance with facility policies, legal requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Crisis Management: Respond to any medical emergencies promptly, including handling withdrawal symptoms or other urgent health concerns, and coordinate care with appropriate healthcare professionals.
Nurse Practitioner Qualifications:
- Education: Master of Science in Nursing ( MSN) or a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with a valid Georgia state nursing and DEA license.
- Experience: At least 2 years of substance abuse nursing experience, preferably in an addiction treatment center, outpatient care, or behavioral health settings.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of substance use disorders, outpatient treatment programs (IOP and PHP), and the medical management of withdrawal and recovery.
- Skills: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple responsibilities, and demonstrate a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Certifications: CPR and First Aid certifications required; additional certifications related to addiction treatment or behavioral health are preferred.
- Availability: 9am - 2pm Monday - Friday, on-call every other weekend.
