Job Summary
The Staffing Coordinator supports leaders and staff within substance use and behavioral health programs by aligning HR strategies with clinical and operational goals. This role focuses on workforce stability, regulatory compliance, employee well-being, and fostering a supportive, trauma-informed workplace that enables high-quality patient care.
- Partner with program directors, clinical leaders, and operations teams to develop HR strategies that support patient care and organizational goals.
- Coordinate and manage staff schedules (nursing, behavioral health techs, support staff) and ensure appropriate staffing levels for 24/7 patient care coverage
- Advise leadership on workforce planning and staffing models.
- Support recruitment and retention of licensed and non-licensed staff (e.g., counselors, case managers, peer support specialists)
- Lead onboarding, training coordination, and orientation of new employees
- Handle call-outs, shift changes, and last-minute staffing needs
- Provide guidance on employee relations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance management
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and labor laws (e.g., HIPAA, TJC, GA state licensing requirements)
- Lead regular employee engagement and well-being initiatives.
- Analyze HR data (turnover, vacancy rates, engagement) and recommend improvements during monthly committee meetings
- Support training and development programs, including clinical competencies and mandatory compliance training via KIPU Compliance (Hatch)
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field
- 2-5+ years of HR experience, preferably in healthcare, behavioral health
- Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices, as well as regulatory and accreditation bodies (e.g., Joint Commission, GA state)
- Experience handling employee relations
- Strong interpersonal, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR)
- Experience supporting licensed professionals (e.g., LCSW, LPC, CADC)
- On-site, Monday-Friday, full time
